What injectables cover
Injectables at a med spa usually fall into two groups. Wrinkle relaxers are a purified protein injected in small amounts into specific facial muscles. Dermal fillers are gels, many based on hyaluronic acid, placed under the skin in chosen areas.
Both are given by licensed providers where state law allows. Who may inject is set by state rules, so in Colorado the provider might be a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or registered nurse, depending on those rules and any supervision they require.
A consultation comes first. The provider asks about your health and what you want to discuss, and decides what is suitable.
Things to tell an injector up front
Some details change what an injector will suggest, so mention them early:
- any injectables you have had before, with dates if you know them
- any reaction you had, even a mild one
- dental work or vaccines coming up soon
- recent illness or a skin infection near the area
- a big event in the next few weeks
- pregnancy, plans to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
A licensed provider uses this to decide what is suitable and when. Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows, under Colorado rules on who may inject.
Three things a provider will want to know
Before an injectables consultation, be ready to tell the provider three things.
What you want to ask about. Point to the area, describe it, and say how long you have noticed it.
Your health. Conditions, allergies, medicines, supplements, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Your history. Any injectables before, where and when, and how you found them.
Write these down so you do not miss anything. Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows, and the provider decides what is suitable.
Questions about injectables
What is the difference between wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers?
Wrinkle relaxers are a purified protein injected into specific muscles, and they act on muscle movement. Dermal fillers are gels placed under the skin in chosen areas. They are different products with different techniques. A licensed provider can explain both and decide what, if anything, is suitable for you.
Does this site inject anyone?
No. This site is not a clinic and has no providers. It passes your consultation request to a local provider in or near Aurora. Any injectable is given by a licensed provider where state law allows, after a consultation where they decide what is suitable.
How do I know which product a provider is using?
Ask. A provider can tell you the product type, whether it is a wrinkle relaxer or a dermal filler, and why they suggest it. You can also ask for the product name and amount to be noted in your records, which helps if you see a different provider later.
A licensed provider decides what is suitable for you. Send a request to begin that conversation.
